Biddeford Youth Arts Scholarship Program
Common Roots Studio is honored to be part of the Biddeford Youth Arts Scholarship Fund, a local initiative making the arts accessible to all Biddeford families, free of cost.

Through fundraising events, we will help grow the scholarship fund, which families can then use right here at Common Roots for free music classes, a visiting artist experience for their child, and more.

The BYAS Fund also connects families with a variety of creative opportunities across Biddeford. Whether it’s art classes with Mill Studio Arts, dance lessons with a local dance group, music camp with Kids Kind Music, or other enriching experiences, the goal is simple: remove cost as a barrier so every child can explore their creativity.

Biddeford Youth Arts Scholarship fund (a Heart of Biddeford 501(c)(3) initiative) strives to remove financial barriers for children and youth eager to explore arts enrichment opportunities. Scholarships support visual art, dance, theater, and music lessons. Scholarships will cover tuition for community-based arts education in Biddeford, Maine.
While Biddeford is experiencing a cultural renaissance, many families still face economic challenges that make arts programming inaccessible. We believe that cost shouldn't hinder creativity, self-expression, and personal growth. Yet, local arts classes often require fees that are out of reach for many families. This program ensures that all children-regardless of household income can benefit from the confidence, skill-building, community connections, and personal fulfillment that arts participation fosters. This scholarship program directly invests in Biddeford's next generation of artists, performers, and creative thinkers, making the arts a real option for every kid, not just those who can afford it.
