I am coming up on my 9th year working at the behavioral school Sweetser in Saco. I graduated from the University of New England with a degree in Psychology and minor in Art. I started Common Roots as an artists collective in 2012 with a few friends in Biddeford, ME above Elements coffee shop and what used to be Engine art gallery.

Recently I traveled across our diverse nation with some friends in a Fed Ex truck we converted into a sustainable home. We made connections with environmental groups and learned about the sustainability movement. Following this eye opening tour, I returned inspired. Since then I have developed Sweetser’s first art program in over 7 years. I currently live in Hollis and work through private commissions that help keep Common Roots alive! 

Pat Sylvia has been teaching guitar since 2006 after earning a degree in Music Performance. Pat is available for individual and group lessons for guitar, mandolin, banjo, bass, and beginner piano. He plays in several bands across Maine, including All Soul'd Out, The Galley Rats, and Soul Taco, as well as solo acoustic and classical guitar.
